It seems to me that most problems are not ones that are caused by people not caring enough, especially since vast sums of money are sent as aid from the West to the developing world. The UK Government is increasing the amount of aid even while cutti…
Autocephalous means that a Church is 'self-headed', so it is a separate local Orthodox Church.
Autonomous means that a Church is 'self-ruled', so it has authority over its own affairs but is still in a relationship with some other, larger Church an…
I've just released the material for unit 2 of the Orthodox Christology course.
Don't forget, anyone can register and begin studies at anytime, studying at their own pace. I have also started accepting registrations for the Church History course.

You need to telephone your priest NOW and arrange to have a conversation with him, either in person or on the phone.
Everyone keeps telling you to do this, and for some reason you are refusing.
Your problems will not be solved on the tasbeha.org f…
Most problems are caused by only one or two of the analogies and concepts associated with salvation being taken in isolation. What is required is that all the analogies and concepts be given a proper consideration and balance.
The Syrian Orthodox Church is Assyrian.
There have been several Syrian Patriarchs of Alexandria.
One of the most famous monasteries is 'of the Syrians'.
Hi Rony
I find it useful to reflect on the worst that could happen in all of these sort of circumstances, and give that worst that could happen to God.
What if you never married, and never had a person you could rely on. Are you in a place yet whe…
There is a video of my sermon at the first meeting of the St George and St Paul the Hermit mission here...

I think that we can do nothing but cheerfully live the Christian life as we know that God expects of us.
When we try to live like the world to attract others then we are only attracting them to the ways of the world and endangering our own salvatio…
That's not my understanding of the present instructions of the Synod.
I think that the Synod instructs that all Catholics should be baptised. This is rather problematic from a variety of points of view. If it were not the case I would not find it p…
Lol, I don't expect everyone to register or even to want to participate, but I hope that people are telling their priests, deacons, parents etc that there is a course that they might want to consider taking.
Has anyone been able to share the information about the London School of Orthodox Christian Studies with their priest and deacons?
So far I have only 12 students, and I am pleased to be able to work with each one. But if this Orthodox educational v…
You ask the advice of your priest, which is what I have kept asking you to do.
These are all questions you should be addressing to him as he knows you and cares for you as his spiritual child.
Thank God that through the prayers of many people God has granted him healing and he has now come home. He is still weak, but he was truly at death's door and now he is back with his family. Glory to God.
I would appreciate it if folk could perhaps ask their priests to take a look at the London School of Orthodox Christian Studies website and consider if they can recommend this first course on Orthodox Christology to any in their care.
Also, if you …
I would rather folk didn't criticise the Catholic Church as soon as Lent begins. It is a distraction from considering our own sins and weaknesses.
Father Peter
The catholic church in the east tries to be an instance of the local christian community but in communion with rome. It is nit necessary to be latin to be catholic.
I don't think I need to PM people, as there are many of us who get involved in various threads that are unlikely to lead to a conclusion, or at least one that brings unity. There is nothing wrong with such discussions if they are conducted with char…
There will be no discussion of any controversial issues during Lent.
This is not a time to be concerned with others, except in prayer, but to focus very intently on our own spiritual life.
I won't lock the forums but I will be strict(er) about threads which begin to be arguments. So I will probably not be allowing discussion of Coptic pronounciation!
The course on its own can't be validated. It needs to be part of a whole collection of courses/modules that will make up a Certificate course. Universities can't validate what is only one part of a complete course.
God bless you
