Bonaventure,
I can appreciate the remark relative to evangelizing, but my thoughts are relative to the gravity, ramifications, and precedence.
I will put it to you relative to those of us who are struggling to survive under heavy persecution in Eg…
Bonaventure,
My reference to John Paul II kissing the koran is not relative to the picture posted (in another thread), but rather the two specific times in: Constantinople and in Jerusalem.
Moreover, his comments were relative to being in front o…
Ioannes,
I did not say you quoted Origen, I said you 'mention Origen'. My thought was that it is not necessary to take things to excess.
I thought I was answering you in the same tone I usually do.
I know you quote St. John Chrys. mainly.
Ioannes,
I find Fr. Peter's quite compelling and wonderfully stated.
I will also say, since you mention Origen quite a bit. Do not go down Origen's path in that regard.
I do not think you are crazy, and I do not stay away from your comments.
I …
Boricua_Orthodox,
There are newspapers in Egypt that reported that John Paul II had accepted Islam, relative to pictures like that one. I believe the same veiled comments were also on some television broadcast in Egypt.
That's an interesting and whimsical statement.
He had THE FATHER.
I guess Adam had Eve as a mother figure, which got him into a psychological imbalance, thereby leaving him at a weak point of consenting to eat from the fruit of the tree of knowled…
Father,
I really like this analogy. May I use it?
If I am a rich man and spend all my money foolishly then my children and their children will be poor.
This is part of the consequence of being created as rational and responsible people. The thing…
Godislove260,
Offering veneration to the koran is not the same thing as quoting some things from it. One will remember that 3/8 of the koran is taken from the Bible. There is some commonality in a vague sense. I will quote Shakespeare, does tha…
gust123,
The Bible says very deliberately:
'Seek ye the Kingdom of God'
and
'Love God with all of your heart, and with all of your mind, and with all of your soul.'
The Coptic Church is the means and the 'ship' that leads us to God.
There is a…
I appreciate your words, however, there has to be an answer made when comments are flagrantly wrong.
I even restrained myself after the obnoxious tone with which the Newbie entered the forum, with self-proclaimed accolades.
My responses are within…
I believe some notable saints were asked to do that simple task to avoid martyrdom, and they said "no".
Do we remember: St. George, St. Mina, St. Mercurius, St. Julianna, St. Demiana, St. Marina? They were foolish [sarcasm] they decided to die ra…
Pray, Fast, Tithes.
Pray for the Poor.
Fast for the poor, and to taste their hunger.
Give from the bounty that was given to you to help alleviate their pain.
It should be consecrated.
Other things that should be consecrated that are included in the rites: priests' vestments, and the veils of the altar.
As for the lucite plastic tabernacles, in my opinion, I do not like them. They are not made from ma…
Ioannes,
I was away for the weekend, and really did not have much time to log-in.
In regard to your comments, I would say that your thought about eating, and it necessitating a digestive process, is not true for angels; God-worshipping or fallen.…
From what I was taught it is the equivalent to the sprinkling of the blood of the lamb of the Old Testament sacrifice. The Sacrifice of Our Lord is a bloodless sacrifice and the water being sprinkled gives the same equivalence in ritual.
Ioannes,
To quote a very famous Coptic (Zoxsasi): Go for it!
They are worms. If you recall, worms do not have a brain. These people are brainwashed and instilled into a cult. They are given rote speeches and answers. They are incapable of com…
Stavro,
You said what I say in public, but did not put here because I thought it would be "moderated".
I agree with you 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000%
