  • I know also that you, as monophysites, consider duophysitism to be heretical. This is a big subject, but I just felt the need to say that we are not monophysites, but actually miaphysites. We basically believe the same as Eastern Orthodox regarding …

  • When we pray a "sunday school" liturgy with a lot of young deacons at our church, we usually just chant the first part (ondos). The great thing about this particulair hymn is that you can choose what ever parts you want to chant, and u'll find a lot…
  • Circumcision was the symbol of the old covenant - baptism of the new. Is that not so? That's absolutely so, circumcision was a mere symbol and shadow of the coming baptism and the epistle to the Romans says so explicitely too. I was just sharing som…
  • I've wondered all my life what in the world the relation is between circumcision and baptism. I other words: why exactly was circumcision a symbol for baptism. I finally found a good answer in a sermon about the epistle to the Romans. To understand…

  • ya it's an amazing hymn, enthoten, but you also forget it a amazingly fast, especially when you never ever chant it. I guess the solution is to skip the second part, because that is way too long to be chanted during a regular liturgy. I just wonder …
  • I just wrote a long post refuting one of the "rational arguments" that is presented in the first video. However, for some reason the window closed, and I really can't be bothered to re-type it, it's not even worth the time. Just assume from me that …

  • You guys are right, epouro is not a festive hymn per se (although I personally think the tune is joyfull, actually the last verse "Tenouwsht" is said as the joyfull gospel response), it clearly says in the Deacons Service book that it can be chanted…
